Pecked Freki awake one morning, introducing himself in Freki’s mind: “Hello! I am Munin.”

Pecked Freki’s eye to give him a vision of what was, what is, and what might be, involving Talos and Andalla, then woke him with another peck, leaving the eye clouded. “It is not strength you lack, but wisdom. And allies.” He then flew west, toward the Stormherd.

With Hugin, warned Freki of unseen threats in the Megil’ram, the thornbush, then dove into it, flushing out a flock of shrikes.

Appeared spectrally on Freki’s shoulder as time stopped, warning that “the Lady will be very displeased.”

Told Freki that the third raven following them was connected to Munin: “I remember… dying. I am me. The other… a facsimile only. With my power.” Whether the facsimile was bad was unclear.

With Hugin, told Freki the doppelganger had walked through a veil they could not follow “without knowing what she knows.”

Andalla followed the agents into Alye’adu wearing Munin’s form.

Affected somehow by Talos’s soul-pulling attack; afterward, landing on Freki’s shoulder, the ravens said something had happened to them that they did not understand, but they were OK now.

Told Freki he needed to activate the portal. Beyond it, Munin was clear while Hugin was veiled, and perched atop the mirror, calling it the domain of memory, and showed Freki what he had forgotten.

Told Vondal that Freki was born under the sign of death. When Freki pressed about his lost memory, Munin grew spooked (“…I can’t remember. I should remember…”) and vanished.

Returned to Freki once he accepted his wolf nature: “I remember now. All is as it should be again.”

With Hugin, followed Lestache and shared with Freki what they saw; Munin told Freki he was destined for more than “keeping the peace.”

Diving toward Sophie’s hideout, the ravens poofed out of existence; according to Sophie, they were eaten by Tiamat.

With Hugin, appeared to escort Freki’s arrow of slaying into the Death Tyrant.

With Hugin, warned Freki that the time was approaching, then urged him out of his bloodlust: all his forms are him, no one better than another. They distracted Enoch so Freki could bite him.

With Hugin, appeared to Freki as he passed beyond the veil of death beneath HQ: “Everyone lives two lives. The life… and the echo.”

In the tower, the ravens flew to the false Raven Queen’s shoulders, telling Freki they were where they needed to be, which felt very wrong to him.

Investigating the campsite with Hugin, Munin told Freki the veil “should be thicker here, but something happened.”

After the Flux washed over the agents, Munin had an udder, and said they had always been able to speak. Munin was focused on finding the “center” and “stopping the tear.”

Told Freki the Raven Queen wanted Nondal out of her realm, which was probably why the gate had opened for the agents.

When Lorelei and Rubinia left in the night, the ravens told Freki they would watch over her, and went with them.

Entered Callie as an icy, protective force and a white-hot rage, granting her clarity and wisdom, and a vision of Lorelei’s treatment through the raven cloak, then left with an elegant farewell after the battle.

Withdrew gently from Callie’s body after the battle, breaking her link with Freki.

In Grohnea’s ritual, Freki came to know that his ravens are not pawns of the Raven Queen, but ancient allies steering history since the world was young, instruments of Gaia’s primal authority.
