Woke at HQ, where Ceowyn warned him that he and Cal were needed by their friends. At the circus, he snagged a pixie with a slam-dunk hop, and, when Squatch complained of a tummy ache, proposed an “exploratory-investigatory surgery” with Callie.

12e03

In a blighted zone of the World Tree, he woke a sprite sleeping inside a dead tree; it climbed out, spied the agents, and let loose an ear-splitting shriek.

12e05

Eagerly ate dormina fruit and dreamed of pirate raids, until a ship’s empty hold led him into the Feywild. There he swore the oath of exile to Janus Ilaris: “The sun in your kingdom shall not shine again upon this face.”

12e07

Rode up the Tree with Cal on his winged monkey, which suddenly grew huge divine wings. He had a vision of a woman in a dark cloak, who turned to reveal a red-haired woman in a green and yellow dress.

12e08

Slew the Green Knight guarding the Fruit in a single sly stab. Polymorphed into a giant narwhal, then restored, he tore into Isis, leaving her dying, before the faerie dragon turned him into a crimson jellyfish; he chose to drown rather than stay that way, and Freki killed him to restore his true form.

12e09

Jumped down the hole (“I’ve jumped in worse holes”). When Freki attacked Phoebe, he stabbed her with both swords, and her gushing blood congealed into an unconscious little man.

12e10

Stabbed Isis with the Hornblade, then killed her as she lay confused, feeling the halfling ghost’s sense of vengeance fulfilled. He then tested the party for doppelgangers with a bluff: a vial of water that would supposedly react to a doppelganger’s blood.

12e11

Bluffed to the illusory Janus that the agents were doppelgangers, and fought a dark Oz-ghost wielding the Hornblade against him. His bluff that they were the Queen’s relief guards fell flat. He found his monkey statue outside, feeling a wave of reassurance, and stole the Ioun Stone of Mastery from the treasury, cracking it with the Hornblade while splitting the Book’s crystal casing.

12e12

Urged going to the Queen and argued against stabbing the Book, but attacked the black ooze with his swords. When Cal tried to whip the Hornblade from him, he wrested it free and brought it down on the Book, only for Freki to leap in the way and take a near-fatal critical hit.

13e01

Spied on the doppelganger’s camp on the first nights of the pursuit, seeing her skin slough off, and watching her enchant a thrush. Turned into a tree by Callie’s seeming, he wanted out.

13e02

Felt something strange as he waved his sword through the place where the doppelganger’s trail ended, and later stabbed the veil, ripping it, as Callie spoke the village’s name.

13e03

Stabbed Talos, who seemed to like it.

13e04

Stabbed Talos repeatedly, and finally cut him in half with a 104-point blow from the Hornblade. Afterward, he blabbed that Bec had Isis’s body.

14e00

His monkey statue came to life in answer to Callie’s sending to Cassandra; when he gave it the Hornblade, it sprouted celestial and shadow wings. After Cassandra was dispelled out of it, he coaxed the tired monkey back to life and let it rest.

14e01

His contacts confirmed they had sent the monkey statue to Cassandra. He cheated the casinos of “Gnome Vegas” until Leopold found him, and came late to the all-staff meeting. At Evershroud, he stabbed Malachai in the gut with the Hornblade to stop his spell.

14e02

His sword deflected off Lady Nightshade’s invisible barrier. Charmed by her, he reached for her potion; once Bec dispelled the charm, he tried to smash the bottle in Nightshade’s face, but was charmed again by her angels, gored at by the unicorn, and charmed by Vondal too, before Callie snatched the potion away.

14e03

Skewered and eventually destroyed one of the flameskulls with the Hornblade, and pocketed a crystal ball from the library. He picked the lock to Invictus’s study.

14e04

Sprayed the mirror shards away with his portable firehose. He persuaded Cal to give Bec the Celestial Hand, stabbed Malachai for trying to bind Callie, and stabbed Invictus compulsively with the Hornblade, feeling the ghost within enjoying it, until Cal pulled him away.

14e05

Hid under Malachai’s corpse when a bat approached, and later behind Freki. He stabbed into the vampires and resisted Malak’s “You’re naughty.”

15e00

Hid behind Freki, then befriended Bilbo with his panache. He bounced his mug off Vondal’s head for his sexism, and was determined to liberate Bilbo’s people from the vampires’ slave trade. Avandra gave him a wooden coin to bite when the time comes for a sneakier approach.

15e01

Rummaged through Bilbo’s belongings, and won him over with his panache to the idea of liberating Xaryuvia. He then floated disguising someone as Bilbo, and tried to knock him out with his sword’s pommel, but Bilbo vanished first.

15e02

Disguised as Bilbo, he bluffed past the ghasts and began announcing guests at the ball. He gave Troile a vial of changeling blood, claiming it came from his wounded master, enjoyed the privileges of serving the Master, and introduced Goratrix with a crude joke. Lestache saw through the disguise but found him amusing.

15e03

Warned Sophie the sword was evil, then secretly gave her Callie’s clamulet, noticing her amulet of Tiamat. He challenged the vampires not to cheat with an early start, barrel-rolled the flying carpet, and finally taunted Enoch (“your wings look like shit!”) to draw his attention, then kissed his monkey and jumped out of the hut to face him.

15e04

Stabbed Enoch repeatedly in a run-by, drawing him away from Sophie’s hideout, and dodged most of his claws, bites and fire. He flirted unsuccessfully with Sophie, and, using his panache, learned from Elloia that Enoch knew where the Death Tyrant was; she offered to make him a vampire, and they promised to meet again.

15e06

Became strangely glamorous, winning Sophie’s wavering attention from the Death Tyrant; she hasted him.

15e07

Struck the Death Tyrant with wounds its ghost-eating could not heal. Touching a stained glass window, he learned the woman of his sword, Dallah Thaun, had been betrayed, and that he must avenge her. He picked the Brucolac’s pocket unnoticed, taunted him (“Your wings look like shit!”), and backflipped through the portal as he tried to close it.

15e08

Told the Brucolac you can’t insult what doesn’t exist. He bit Avandra’s coin, then, with Callie’s distraction, stole the Brucolac’s manifesting hourglass, absorbing it, and felt time pulse back a moment, giving him the chance to land what should have been a fatal blow with the Hornblade.

15e09

Tripped cartwheeling to Callie. Back at HQ, Cassandra found him cursed with bad luck, his luck having abandoned him; he stumbled off to bed and fell into a sleep so deep that Freki stole his dagger without waking him, while his aura seemed to grow into a new shape.

16e01

Woke after 23 hours, vaguely remembering that the hourglass he grabbed had given him a new power, one that seemed to require a karmic balancing each time he used it. He went down through the basement trap door first, light springing from the Hornblade, and found himself beneath reality, among gnarled roots, calling his friends cowards for not following.

16e02

Demanded his dagger back from Freki, sliced up Audreth, and killed the Cerberus with excessive force, hearing a whisper of “Yeeesssss.” In the mirror shards, he saw Mallory shifting uncontrollably between shapes.

16e03

Leapt to defend his monkey when the Furies possessed it, and sliced the beam of light linking Cassandra to the creature, cutting off two of her fingers. He kicked the tower’s locked door, which he and Cal then opened.

16e04

Found himself in a tall, unfamiliar body, the one he had worn in the Elyrian dream, and heard his oath: “The sun in your kingdom shall not shine again on this face.” Feeling karma’s due for trying to weasel out of it, he realized he could fold time back to right something done wrong. After the Great Old One’s gaze, he suffered vivid hallucinations.

16e05

Still in his tall new body, he found he better understood the planar layout. Stabbing a shadow creature turned it into a Shadow Oz, whose wounds he shared; it taunted him to a duel, and when Freki tore it apart, Ozborn fell unconscious too. He challenged whether Audreth was the real Audreth, brandishing the Hornblade.

16e06

Saw Freki’s monstrous alternate self. With Bec, he discovered Lorelei in a bedroll at the campsite. He assured the questioning “Mallory” that the coins found there were safest with him, then threw his dagger into Mallory’s chest. In the fight with the Demogorgon, he stabbed into it.

16e07

Stabbed a tentacle that hit Cassandra. The Demogorgon’s whirling eyes confused him, until Cassandra’s greater restoration cleared his mind.

16e08

His blade sliced open reality, releasing a death cow and a winged battering ram that fought the Demogorgon. He killed the Demogorgon, and stabbed the Flux-chimera Audreth through the heart. His duplicate merged back into him painfully, splitting the Hornblade into two smaller daggers. The Flux gave him antlers, doubled speed, and sparking footsteps. At the Afterworld gate, he threw a dagger into the other Vondal’s chest, and spotted a white crane tattoo on his ankle.

16e09

Stabbed at Nondal, whose body displaced into two. Back at HQ, Cassandra restored his health, though not his antlers or sparking feet.

17e00

Urged everyone to get out of there, and insisted he wasn’t a creep. His back pay went to his debtors, and the elves let him keep the Ioun Stone of Mastery as the SPI’s ward until Tybalt’s return. He brought Mallory the mysterious coins, and complained about his antlers and sparking feet.

17e03

Took a ward from Grohnea granting him an extra attack each round for a time, when he wishes.

17e04

Scouted ahead for traps and spotted a giant working magic on the behir eggs. He proposed having Kavaki plant one of his daggers on Rhyzophus, so he could teleport to it.

17e05

Tested his stolen crystal ball, learning he could scry only people and places. Teleporting to his dagger in Rhyzophus’s chamber (“Today, I put you in the GROUND!”), he resisted Verthandi’s charm, unrolled the portable hole, and attacked her, before Skalfang’s freezing ray slowed him.

17e06

Dealt 144 points of damage to the paralyzed giant Erka, cheered Freki’s kills, and dashed across the chamber to grab Rhyzophus as he fled.

17e08

Checked on the captive giants, who refused to escape dishonorably, and chased after the escaped behir brood mother. He egged on Moldak’s call to the quest. Trying to scry Orlok in his crystal ball, he was seized by a bloody presence calling him “my child,” which bit his neck, and then Freki bit him too.

17e09

With vampiric and lycanthropic curses battling within him, he stabbed at Freki for biting him and later confronted him about consent. Ulgrim’s protective ritual began slipping at once. At Grohnea’s, Ozborn insisted that no matter how often he rewound time, Vondal would always do the same thing.

18e00

Held his idealized self in mind for Grohnea’s ritual, shedding his antlers and sparking feet, and quietly acquired black lotus, belladonna and a poisoner’s kit from her stores. His egocentric debrief left Mallory staring in baffled silence, and Mallory rebuked him: “Do not kill non-hostiles, ESPECIALLY fellow agents!”
