Trapped Will
If any one traps the OL in a magic circle or similiar device, then the OL’s abilities may be used by who ever is in control of the device as if it possessed them himself.
Alchemical Prowess
The OL may exert control over alchemical items and devices. If the item is in the possession of some one else it gets a will save DC 14 + 2*OL LVL + Chr. Tho OL may manipulate the object to the best of its capabilities varying to wether it functions or doesn’t to full control over autonomous alchemical creations or just allow its possessor to control it. The OL may double the power(double duration, damage, bonuses, etc) of any alchemical item he controls with the expenditure of an action point. The OL recognizes whether any object is alchemical or not just by looking at it.
Nigredo
For an action point as a full round action the OL infects a target with a deadly magical/alchemical disease(Fort DC 12 + 2 * OL LVL + Chr). This disease affects the target once per round in which he/she takes a physical action or uses a supernatural or spell like ability. The target when afffected must make a fort save or take 1d2 ability damage randomly to Str, Dex, Con, Int, Wis, or Chr. Should the target die while affected the OL is affected as if he had cast Death Knell on the target. This disease is made aparent by the rotting that accompanies the damage.
Albedo
the OL may bestow a blessing on a target within touch range as a standard action. This blessing gives the target +20 to SR, AC, all saves, and any defensive rolls. The target loses this blessing when some one fails to breach the targets SR or hit the target with a melee or ranged attack or when the target succeeds a save or defensive roll at the end of the current turn. This blessing is made aparent by the soft white glow of the target.
Rubedo
As a free action on his/her turn the OL may remove a blessing of albedo from a target in line of sight to replace it with a blessing of rubedo. Rubedo gives the target +20 to caster level for purpose of breaching SR, hit on melee attacks, and DC of the targets effects and doubles the damage and duration of the targets attacks and effects. The blessing is removed at the end of the current turn when the target successfully affects a target with an effect or hits with a melee or ranged attack.
Quicksilver Mask
The when not in some ones possession seems to be an average pool of mercury. When one attempts to pick it up it quickly forms into a semisolid silver mask with the occasional bead of mercury rolling down or across it. When worn the mask allows its bearer to see from the eyes of any one they attune the mask to. It takes 5 minutes to attune the mask to a person. The wearer must keep the target being attuned in sight for the whole time, any break in sight and the attunement will have to be restarted. While attuning the wearer can take only the most simple actions. While looking through the eyes of someone attuned the wearer may also cast affects as if they were where the attuned person is with their line of sight.

A Theory of Dissolution
The world we live in, what we call reality or existence, is a border world between two planes of pure and unadulturated nature. One plane consists of null potential and infinite limitation the other of infinite potential and null limitation. For easy of language we will name these planes. We will call the plane of null potential the Void(as popular nomenclature is like to do) and the other the Pleroma. Where the Pleroma and the Void intersect we have the finite world. At this intersection the Void cuts potentials away from the Pleroma create a space of limited existence.
It is within the realms of possibility that what we, within our capacity, see as the finite world is not the lone finite world. It is not a small leap of logic to deduce, though limited to our three dimensional thought, that what we experience would be merely one side of the joint where the Void and the Pleroma. We being beings of existence of course find ourselves on the pleroma side of this. I do not wish to say that on the otherside are beings of nonexistence only that this is how we perceive them. I would proport in fact that on the otherside our Pleroma would be as our Void to them and vice versa. This brings a tragic adversity to both finite worlds. Where we find creation in one, destruction comes to the other. This is most likely a tendancy and not without exception or inequity.
Deviations occure that through this balance off. Sentience, psionic/mystic capacite, world sentience, and even what might be the introduction of beings from outside this struggle are threats to its balance. It seems though that our struggle is not without a counter to these possibilities. Planted into the struggle is a phenomenon or sentience set fit to rebalance the scales when they are off balance. The dragons call it the Beast; we have named it the destroyer; those on the "living planet" named it the Peacekeeper. Its presence suggests a design.
All these ideas are perplexing at best, and as much as they might sate one searching for what is happening in the world now, they truly only leave one more thirsty. The question is placed as to what the Peacekeeper is protecting us from.

Class Abilities
Dissolute Nature
Whenever the HoD uses his/her abilities he/she becomes a little more unhinged from the finite world, sometimes ceasing to exist in it all together. Each of the HoD’s abilites gives a condition for when Dissolute Nature is triggered. When this happens the HoD takes a d6 of "dissolute" damage. If this damage becomes greater than the HoD’s current vitality the HoD phases out of the finite world, the damage is then healed at 1 point every 2 minutes. This damage can be healed at the rate of 1 per minute as long as the HoD does nothing other than concentrate. This damage is unhealable otherwise. Visually this damage is made apparent as the HoD becomes more transparent as he takes more of this type of damage.
Disintigrating Vision
With this power the HoD is able to see past the veil of seperation that defines the finite world. He/she can "see" and identify any entity within 10ft + 10ft per HoD lvl, despite anything that would break line of sight, however this sight doesn’t give him/her any form of spatial recognition. He is able target mystic effects on any entity within this sight without paying for range, this does not apply to burst effects, whether or not he/she can see them normally. __Dissolute Nature:__The HoD uses his sight to affect something with a mystic effect that he doesn’t have line of sight to otherwise or doesn’t pay for range on an effect.
Deep into the Beyond
The HoD dissasociates his will from the finite world and sees his manifestation as only an avatar of it. When targeted by a mystic spell the caster finds that the HoD is at a further range then the caster thought, and the spell fails. The caster may opt to spend an amount of reserve equal to the HoD’s level in this class, if he/she does so the spell functions as normal. __Dissolute Nature:__Whenever the HoD is successfully affected by a mystic effect.
Void of Difference
An HoD can merge itself with a Humanoid. Will save DC(10 + HoD + Chr) to resist. The process takes 20 minutes and the HoD must be in contact with the target the whole time. When merged the HoD shares all the victim’s knowledge, memories, skills, feats, and extraordinary abilities, but none of his spell-like or supernatural abilities. It retains all of its own supernatural and spell-like abilities __Dissolute Nature:__Any time another power triggers dissolute nature. If the HoD is removed from finite existence he leaves the victim he was merged with behind.
Where and When
The HoD is immune to Miller, Miller-2, Divination(including div triggers), and Diplacement effects, for better or worse. If someone attempts to look at the HoD with true seeing the HoD is then not visible to the one using true seeing. __Dissolute Nature:__Any time the HoD avoids being affected due to this power
Nonexistence
Spend an action point or a "charge", transfer all of your "dissolute" damage to one target. (will negates DC 10 + Chr + HoD LVL) If this power is negated take a "charge." The "charge" dissapates in a round. __Dissolute Nature:__Target succeeds save
Travel Without Movement
The HoD now moves by being at all points between between where he is and his destination all at once. The HoD can do this in short bursts equal to twice is movement rate as a move action. This movement does not incure attacks of opportunity. Also the HoD may reappear anywhere he is familiar with when returning to the finite world. __Dissolute Nature:__When the HoD would otherwise incure an attack of opportunity.
A View Beyond
As an action the HoD may inflict someone with the confused status for 1d4 rounds(Will Negates DC 10 + CHR + HoD LVL). __Dissolute Nature:__Once per use.
One Point
The HoD may connect 2 points he/she is familiar with into one point, allowing instant travel between them. It is a full action to activate this power and maintain it. The power remains active for 1 round after it is no longer maintained. __Dissolute Nature:__Twice per round maintained.
Nonbeing
The HoD soon starts obtain a grasp over his own existence, and finds himself able to force himself out of existence at will. The HoD may take a full round action to trigger Dissolute Nature. __Dissolute Nature:__At the player’s option as many times as he/she wishes
Dissolute Resolve
It is not useful for the HoD to blink in and out of existence all the time. Soon enough his control over his presence solidifies and he is able to cement his existence when needed. The HoD may take a full round action to rid him/herself of all "Dissolute" damage. __Dissolute Nature:__None, however upon use of this power an area 50ft in radius from the HoD phases out of the finite world for a period of a half hour per point of damage removed. This area does not count against any distances for travel or ranges. As for describing a lack of location…

Persitant Effect
With Persistant Effect a mystic can ward converted instant effects. In order to do such, the effect must have a duration of twice the sphere level of the effect. If the effct is targeted the target gets a will save. If it is an area effect any one moving through it may make a reflex save while moving through it, but if they are in the area at the end of the round they take full damage.
Aura
With aura a mystic may opt to have a burst effect affect any set of friends and/or foes in its area for its duration. Any one who enters such a burst is affected by it whether or not they were present for the initial casting. Any one who leaves the burst however are no longer affected by it no matter the remaining duration. Such bursts are considered to be centered on a target and move with him. Such target gets a will save to negate the burst.
A Journal(Written in Hebrew)
July 17th
I seem to have a bad habit of dieing. As such I am starting this journal. I am keeping it on my person in deadtree format in case that next time is the last time. The first time I died was on Mercury when it was consumed by nanites, and incident orchastrated by Adam Mclean. By his hand I was taken from Mercury and given part of the device used to destroy the planet to sustain my existence. Adam had in mind to use me to forward his agenda, where ever it was to go. When I next encountered him he presented himself under the alias Harry Bryant, an employee of Merkabah, The company once ran by me and my father. He hired me to accompany the retreival an item from space. This object turned out to be the hand of some man we found unconscious on an asteroid. We had been lucky enough that Adam had procured for us a ship that was capable of FTL travel. Though in the attempt to return to Earth space the hand caused difficulties. Myself and others on the ship were accidentally sent to a far of corner of space onto a planet inhabitted by other lifeforms. We found out that all the lifeforms of the planet were linked to one of five hive minds, one for each type of ecosystem. After discovering, the hard way, the planets dislike for magic, we were taken up by a traveling planet inhabitted by dragons. Their planet, like ours, has a being of significant power who sees it as there responsibility to oversee the well being of the planets inhabitants. After our encounter with there leaders, they begrudgingly returned us to the Terran colony Lupus. After managing to escape Lupus, we were hired by Magitech to procure an individual from Canis we had encountered and left behind earlier. Despite the beginings of war, we managed to return with him intact. We returned to Canis on an errand to retrieve and artifiact, the Crown of Nebuchanezzar, an item of interest to Harry Bryant and some members of Magitech. According to the news at the time, before Mars had become unreachable, it had been under attack by swarms of undead. According to Harry Bryant and a gentleman we met on our second trip Canis the crown was need to subdue the source, Cain of supposed biblical renown. As well, this crown was needed to create a godly creature use Cain as a component. The Caretaker supposedly needs this creature to be created’s help in taking on a force that is trying to destroy the world as we know it.

Max Cohen’s Details
Description(For the GMs)
{img src=http://tinypic.com/f0rda9.gif}{img src=http://tinypic.com/f0rewj.gif} Max is about 6’ tall, 162lbs, and 22 years of age. The divided portion of the Lapidum Occultem that he bears has given him unnaturally red hair and eyes as opposed to his previously black hair and green eyes with glasses. He wears his hair spiked back and up, which is how he wore it before the Mercury incident however now it seems to be the way it naturally lays. keeping with his business life he has a preference for suits and ties however try as he might he usually finds them uncomfortable or too warm. He wears a pair of leather gloves to hide the mark on his right hand. The events have also made his features more sharp and angular than previous, though he carried decent chiseled features before. He retains his professional confidence despite his great paranoia. He approaches anything relating to the government or the royal race with caution and fear, if he has to at all. Strangely enough it always seems slightly warm in his presence and there is a subtle smell of brimstone to those with a keen enough sense of smell. He wears fine cologne to try to mask this.
The Concept
Maximilian Cohen is the former owner of Merkabah Technologies present on Mercury during the recent horrific events that transformed it into grey goo and sole known survivor. He is not merely saturated with nanobots but consists solely of them. He holds a piece of the device responsible for the tragedy that took place on Mercury.
Into the Mind of Max
Monologue
The dreams and memories still haunt me at night. Sometimes I can still feel myself connected to that planet. It calls with its horrible song, and I feel so drawn to return to it. It is similiar to the addiction one can get to VRNet with its openness and freedom except 100 fold. I must resist it though. I know the pain the Occltum Lapidem’s dissolution can bring with its freedom. Some say hell is merely a place where people do whatever they want, and the tortures of it are merely what the denizens inflict upon eachother. As such I take Mercury to now be hell manifest..
I have merely been surviving up until now. I have found it difficult to aquaint myself with this new form. Its hungers, capabilities, limitations are all alien to me. I understand my father’s resentment of such technologies. Human beings truly aren’t made to exist in such strange ways, but technologies like this could have saved my mother. I don’t know what is more noble to maintain and cultivaty ones own humanity despite the trappings of culture or to use any and all available means to survive, prosper, and evolve. My father would be ashamed of what I have become and what I have lost. So much was given to make sure I lived a natural and healthy life.
I need to steel myself though. It is only a matter of time before Adam turns his eyes towards Earth, and I might be the only person that can gain a level footing with him. That is if I am not just a pawn in his game, but in that case I must ready myself to not act to his mascinations just as well. I don’t know what to do, but I know that if I don’t do something, something will find itself done to me.
I need to cover the basics first. For me money, food, and networking are necessary. If I have a good supply of food I won’t starve to death. If I have enough money I can get whatever I need as I need it. I need to network so I can find supplies of either and also keep an eye out for Adam and whatever he sends this way. I also need to adapt to this body. Despite my contempt for it it is the only tool I have to redeem myself in making sure Adam and the O.L. do not get their way anymore.
I need to get my fathers company back together and correct the mistakes I made. If only he were awake he would know what to do. The board of directors seek to pervert and corrupt all that my family has worked for and I can not let that happen.
I’ve been to hell and back, and I would say I have further to go. I have enemies abound and no allies. I need people’s help, though everyone I have met as of yet seems mildly unhinged by my presence. It is easy to tell that the marks of sulphur color me the devil to some eyes. I guess if the suit fits wear it.
Quirks
- Consumes tobacco, fluid, and food in a neurotic fashion with the fleeting hope of refinding his taste for such things again and thus rekindle his "lost" humanity
- Dislikes and fears "Royals" for two reasons or pet theories: "Royals" share knowledge and colaberate and That if his nanomachines came in contact with a "Royal" it would create a new O.L.
- Does not like or use guns
- Absolute moral convictions against killing sentient beings
- If you can’t convince them, con them
- If you can’t con them, scare them
- If you can’t scare them, neutralize them
- if you can’t neutralize them, work around them or run.
- Dislikes any technology that moves humanity away from a more natural existance mainly cybernetic implants, genetech, and some aspects of cloning
Character Notes
;Vadril Korlax:Hehehe! Humorous how this man I once so worried about is now one of the more reliable allies I have, aside from those who agree with me on the fate Adam should be given. ;Rae:I have inherited a preference for those who act as oppossed to those who speak, especially when those who speak don’t know when not to. ;Matt:Technology gave him a question. Magic provided an answer. There was once a time when men would line the bookshelves of mansions to find an answer to whether they had a soul. ;Zee:To my father this man would be proof of the horrors abused technology has brought to the world. To me he is another misfortunate victim of those who recklessly use the tools of technology and magic. ;D.E.E.:It’s amazing that mankind has already found a way to break the speed of light. I wonder who is responsible for this glorious machine. ;Noun:From what I can tell this man knows more about the universe then most people should.
Nanomagus
Planetary Metals
Max’s "mystic" abilities require that he touch the object or creature to be affected. He cannot ward mystic effects (he must "reseed" the target with more nanites each time he wants to renew the effect). In addition, Max himself must "eat" a number of sphere points (any sphere works, even Reserve) equal to his mystic level, each day. To refill any mystic sphere, including Reserve, he must absorb the proper planetary metal, as follows:
Sphere | Metal | |
Reserve | Gold | |
Creation | Silver or Aluminum
Transmutation | Mercury/Quicksilver
Destruction | Copper or Brass
[Healing | ](/mystic/spheres/healing) | Tin |
Enhancement | Lead | |
Illusion | Radium or Uranium
Mind Control | Lithium or Platinum
Pyrotechnics | Tungsten or Plutonium
Unusable | Steel or Iron |
Max may as a full round action use a free destruction effect to destroy any of the above metals without error. One cubic foot of the material refills the relevant sphere completely (less refills a proportionate fraction thereof, linearly). Of course, the Occultum Lapidem trumps these rules, but using it has its own disadvantages…
Sphere Changes
- Creation:-
- Destruction:The nanomagus is unable to use destruction to dispel magic, as well destruction damages undead just as it damages the living. In the case of enchanted objects enough destruction must be spent to break the enchantment before it damages the object. This still does not disenchant the object. These changes are revoked when a nanomagus takes the magic machina feat
- Enhancement:It is unknown whether nanomagi can link as mystics can, but it is an unlikely event to occure seeing as there are only three nanomagi and they probably aren’t friends.
- Healing:The nanomagus can use healing to heal the undead just as well as the living and isn’t even able to hurt the undead with it. A nanomagus is also incapable of healing magical afflictions or any form of resurection. These changes are revoked if the nanomagus takes the magic machina feat with the exception of the ability to resurect
- Illusion:Illusions can only be placed on solid objects until the nanomagus takes the airborn colonies feat. All powers are still touch range.
- Mind Control:Remember all powers are touch range.
- Pyrotechnics:Remember all powers are touch range.
- Transmutation:-
Nanomagus Feats
The following feats from the The Mystic Guide are available to a Nanomagus:
In addition a Nanomagus has these feats available to him:
Eat and Run
With this feat the nanomagus may now preform his free destruction against planetary metals as a standard action as oppossed to a full round action.
Autonomous Colonies
This feat allows a nanomagus produce self-sustained, short-lived nanocolonies. This allows him to use his effects as range touched attacks with a range increment of 15 as opposed to the limited touch attacks. When used this ability produces a visible grey metallic blob one half inch in diameter per sphere rank used which is hurled at the target. Note that if the nanomagus missses and hits something or someone else by accident, the effect goes off on whatever was hit. After effecting a target the the blob attempts to return to the nanomagus(mv 10) losing an inch of diameter per round. If the blob does not return to the nanomagus its effect is not considered effective for golden pocket or consumptive memory.
Airborne Colonies
__Prerequisite:__Autonomous Colonies With this feat the nanomagus has learned to pass his nanocolonies through the air. Effectively his thrown colonies are nolonger visible to the bare eye nor is any visible throwing or propulsion necessary to effect the target. The range increment for the ranged touch attack is now increased to 30 as well. Also, this feat allows the nanomagus to create illusions off of solid objects.
Smart Colonies
__Prerequisite:__Autonomous Colonies With this feat the nanomagus no longer has to endure the embarassment of accidentally effecting the wrong target with an effect. This feat makes it so the nanomagus only effects the specified target with any effect.
Piercing Colonies
__Prerequisite:__Smart Colonies, Autonomous Colonies With this feat the nanomagus’ colonies now can ignore cover or obstacles, with the exception of those composed of iron. The colonies pass through anything in there path without leaving any trace of passing.
Object Saturation
Well here is to thinking outside the box. As a habit nanomagi tend to think of themselves as one solid object, however with this feat a nanomagus finally gets a hold of the fact that he is in fact many, many tiny machines just pretending to be one object. With this new insite he can now integrate himself into simple objects with no more than a size catagory difference from himself. To do this he must make a touch attack against the object, if the object is in someone’s possession it then gets a Fort save using the possessor’s save. When he does this he shares the body of the object in question. They both take half damage after seperate saves and resistances from anything that damages them. Their weight is now equal to half the nanomagus’ plus the object’s. The nanomagus can also make the object move while in it. The movement rates for such are found in the chart below. The nanomagus and object also now have a slam attack deal damage according to size. Though this is a decent technique for hiding, a nanomagus still has telltale signs of his presence from a piece of the O.L.. In the case the nanomagus dies in the object, well, it doesn’t matter to him at that point, and it wouldn’t help him sleep at night if he new.

Electromechanic Saturation
Prerequisite:Object Saturation With this feat the nanomagus now has the coordination to saturate mechanical and electrical devices. This is the same as saturating an simple object with the following exceptions. The nanomagus can only stay saturated in a target for a number hours equal to his caster level. If the target has a real life-force he can not take control of it, however the target and anything it touches is considered to be touch range. If the object is psuedo-sentient with no life-force it can make a Will save to gain control every half hour, if it has control it must make a Will save ever hour to maintain it. In either of the previous cases the target gets a Fort save to avoid the initial saturation. Once in control the nanomagus has access to all abilities of the target that are not spells, spell-like abilities, or supernatural abilities, as well if the target has physical stats he may use those or his own. The target always maintains use of his spells, spell-like abilities, and supernatural abilities as well does the nanomagus his own when he is not in control.
Organic Saturation
__Prerequisite:__Electromechanical Saturation As Electromechanical Saturation except now complex organisms can be targeted. When saturating organisms the time is reduced to two minute intervals.
Consumptive Memory
This feat makes it so the nanomagus is considered properly skilled or knowledgable when creating or transmuting items into objects or devices he has completely consumed through use of destruction.
Efficient Regurgitation
__Prerequisite:__Consumptive Memory Using the direct knowledge of items remembered through Consumptive Memory the nanomagus is better able to resolve the complexities of these objects when they are created effectively gaining 4 points towards complexity when creating or transmuting items that are also affected by Consumptive Memory. __Special:__This feat can be taken multiple times but only adds 1 level each additional time taken.
Golden Pocket
The nanomagus gains a new sphere called pocket and has 5 ranks in this sphere. This sphere can not be filled from reserve. It is only filled when a material of value is desrtoyed using the destruction sphere. When this is done the value of the material is figured and by that the points of that would be used to increase its value. This value of points goes into the pocket sphere and can be used as points in creation to increase the value of an object made using creation.
Cannibalize
The nanomagus posesses many nanites that are never involved in the act of his "magic," but instead tend the basic needs and functions that allow the nanomagus’s body to exist. At a sacrifice to his corporeal and mental faculties he can, with this feat, now tap into previously unavailable resources for his "magic." As a free action, he may sacrifice one point from his stats or one hit die (being the lose of a hit die and vitality damage equal to max hit die) to refill one point of reserve. This loss is not healed until two points are sacrificed from one of the nanomagus’s spheres, at which point it returns in 8 hours of rest.
Magic Machina
__Prerequisite:__Be a potential mystic or have been introduced to psionics With the knowledge of the energies present in the nanobots that make up the nanomagus’s body and his own mystic potential, the nanomagus can now use his nanobots for more magical purposes. With this feat, he can now use destruction to dispel magic and heal to treat magical afflictions. Also, the nanomagus now damages undead with heal and heals them with destruction.

Dossiers
People
;Maximillian Cohen:Former young third generation family owner of Merkabah Technologies. He had inherited the company three years earlier when his father was found in a mysterious coma. Pronounced dead by the government, though he is the only known survivor from Mercury. He has a wife, Livna, who is still on Mercury. His father Currently resides on Earth. ;Jonathan Cohen:Father and sole surviving relative of Maximilian Cohen. Strict practicing jew and financial supporter of the naturalist movement. Mysteriosly found suffering a coma the morning of October 7th, 2296, power of a attorney, power of medical, and ownership of Merkabah were given to his only heir Maximilian Cohen. As per his wishes he is kept alive with life support but has not received any bio or mechanical operations opposed by the naturalist movement or his religious convictions, though it is even doubtful whether these would release him from his coma. He now is the inheritor of the insurance money and liquidated assets of the former Merkabah Technologies. Merkabah Earth is making attempts to get custody of him to retain these funds. ;David Crowe:Seargant of the UNF Military involved in the investigation into the Mercury Incident. He lost is Wife and kids, Susan, Gretchen, and Tim Crowe, to the Mercury Incident. ;Adam Mclean:Arcane scientist specializing in the application of mystic energies in nanomachine construction. He created the nanomachines responsible for the Mercury Incident while contracted by members of the royal race in a project to create a viable nanotechnology for cloning. The project was successful, and he had multiple successful attempts on various organisms. It was, however, when this technology was put to its original purpose that things went horrible wrong. In attempting to clone a member of the royal race the nanomachines went haywire. The resultant chaos destroyed the space station Mclean was working on, destroyed Mclean’s body and gave him a new one made completely of nanomachines, and resulted in what Mclean calls the Occultem Lapidem. Many of Mclean’s expirements escaped and survived the destruction.
Items
;Occultum Lapidem:Often referenced as a device or energy source, it is actually neither of those things. It is a sentients that can carry itself into the nanocolonies created by Adam Mclean. It has three parts: Sulphur, Mercury, and salt. Each part connects the nanocolony to the Occultum Lapidem as a whole. It otherwise has no real form of its own. It was created accidentally when Mclean had attempted to nanoclone a member of the royal race. The subject is what is now the Occultum Lapidem. It has only one true desire and that is the dissolution of all things. Luckily, it has not shown the capability to act on its own. It functions as a filter allowing a nanocolony to to breakdown any matter at an optimal energy return. When this function is called upon there is a chance that is will enact its own will and the result is the grey goo like wich consumed all of Mercury. It is unknown whether the individual parts have any function of there own. Adam Mclean is enamored and obsessed with its power, and Maximilian fears it. What Maximilian fears more is could another one be made. {img src=http://z.about.com/d/altreligion/1/0/G/N/2/ssulfur.jpg} ;Sulphur:It is unknown whether the invidual parts of the Occultum Lapidem have any function of their own other than allowing one to call on the Occultum Lapidem. It has been observed, however, that each piece carries an imbalance when removed from the whole, and express it upon the visage of the bearer. For Sulphur, the bearer’s hair and eye’s redden, his body tempeture rises, and his general vicinity becomes warmer and dryer and takes on a slight smell of sulphur. {img src=http://z.about.com/d/altreligion/1/0/r/J/2/smercury.jpg} ;Mercury:It is unknown whether the invidual parts of the Occultum Lapidem have any function of their own other than allowing one to call on the Occultum Lapidem. It has been observed, however, that each piece carries an imbalance when removed from the whole, and express it upon the visage of the bearer. For Mercury, the bearer’s hair and eye’s blacken, his body tempeture lowers, and his general vicinity becomes colder and damper even creating visible frost or condensation under proper weather conditions. {img src=http://z.about.com/d/altreligion/1/0/h/P/2/ssalt.jpg} ;Salt:It is unknown whether the invidual parts of the Occultum Lapidem have any function of their own other than allowing one to call on the Occultum Lapidem. It has been observed, however, that each piece carries an imbalance when removed from the whole, and express it upon the visage of the bearer. For Salt, the bearer’s hair and eyes whiten, his features become jagged and almost crystalline, he carries a slight secnt similiar to the salt of the sea, and salt can be observed crystalizing in his vicinity if he stays in one place for more than a couple of hours.
Groups
;Merkabah:Founded by Daniel Cohen in the year 2225, Merkabah Technologies specializes in what is now referred to as noninvasive technologies, that being technologies inagreement with the modern naturalist world view. Best known for Jonathan Cohen’s licensing of the technologies used to develop the prototype planetary radiation shielding used on Mercury. Merkabah skyrocketed into popularity and was in talks over going public before the Mercury Incident. As a show of confidence in its technologies, upon inheriting Merkabah, Maximilian Cohen decided to move the central offices of Merkabah to Mercury. In truth this was merely a matter of job reassignment, as the only person of import that moved homes was Maximilian himself. The board of directors choose to remain at their homes on Earth. After the Mercury incident, The remainants of Merkabah were liquidated, and that with the insurance money resulting from the destruction of Mercury were rewarded to Maximilian Cohen’s only living Relative Jonathan Cohen. ;Merkabah Earth:Formed as a subsidiary of Merkabah, after the Mercury incident, it was seized by the board of directors, and declared an independent entity from Merkabah. The board of the directors is working closely with the government to investigate the Mercury Incident. The board of directors had been informed the Maximilian Cohen is alive and is agressively aiding in his apprehension. With Merkabah now under its complete control, the board of directors plans to go public with Merkabah and beyond noninvasive technologies. ;Naturalist Movement:Don’t really care to much about the details on this just thought one might exist so I went with it. The only question is whether they are a violent group or not. Either way can fit to my story. Any other details are found in the other dossiers.

Transcript
The following transcript is from the questioning of Maximillian Cohen by Sergeant David Crowe in concerns to the “Mercury Incident”:
David Crowe: Let me cut straight to the point. We think your company, Merkabah Technologies, is responsible for the technology that resulted in the “Mercury Incident.” Maximillian Cohen: I’ve read no report on any such technology, nor would we ever be involved in the misuse of such dangerous technology. DC: We’ll just have to find that out for ourselves.
MC: Listen, where is my lawyer, my phone call. DC: Won’t be none of that. You’ve been declared a galactic terrorist, and as such are being given no rights or privileges. Hell, I could shoot you right here and no one would care except a couple picketers that still think the term “human rights” applies to you, but they and no one else who would care even knows your here or alive. MC: Some one will eventuallty though and when then do you’ll our legal team… DC: Won’t be no legal team either. Seeing as your corporate HQ is now a grey pile of goo, and Merkabah Earth has decided to declare separation from Merkabah as a whole, you don’t own a legal department. MC: What did you just say? DC: Merkabah Earth has broken off from you and declared its detest for it’s involvement in the “Mercury Incident”, whatever it may be, and offered full cooperation in our investigation. So let’s cut the bullshit no one is coming to save you. MC: Figures those fucking old bags would stab me in the back the first chance they get. Ok, I’ll tell you everything I know, but here is the deal. I need you to find an iron room in the deepest darkest hole you can find, and it needs to be warded with the strongest antimagics you can find. On top of that I want a case of cigars, and a bottle of brandy. DC: Why don’t we just torture it out of you? MC: I don’t know ask your superiors. DC: Fine we can arrange that, but how do I know you have something worth hearing. MC: You wouldn’t be talking to me otherwise, would you?
There was a break in conversation until the transfer of Maximillian Cohen was completed. This is the continuation after the transfer:
Maximillian Cohen: I see you brought one of the “royals” with you today. David Crowe: You wanted wards setup. I couldn’t think of any better way. MC: Oh! So it works for you. Ha! Don’t make me laugh. “Royal”: Mr. Cohen I am only here for your protection per your request. MC: Sure, and if I buy that you have a condo on one Mercury `s moon you could cut me a deal on. DC: Cut the crap Cohen! You’ve got what you want now sing. MC: Fine! I assume you’ve read through all the files in the last backup sent from Merkabah. DC: Of course. MC: Then you know I had an appointment with a gentleman by the name of John Doe then. DC: That did stick out. I just wanted to hear it from the source. So, what is John Doe’s name? MC: Adam McLean. Hmm. “Royal” by the look on your face I would say you know the name. No surprise, though. He told me he developed this under your people’s contract. R: I cannot say I am familiar with such a man. MC: Funny I would have thought all of you would be up to date on each other’s dealings. I mean there is so few of you, and, hell can’t even tell you guys apart from one another. DC: Enough with the “Royals”! Why you where meeting with McLean? MC: He wanted to license a tech through us. He said he had been developing it for a group identifying itself with the “Royals”. The deal went sour so he was looking to freelance to an available tech-broker. If some one was about to hand me a bit of tech the “Royals” were willing to contract for, I’m not about to turn it down. I figured it was going to be some dirty work. I didn’t figure it was going take out a planet. DC: So what happened? MC: We were set for a tech demonstration. After a lengthy discussion about the tech, it’s safe use, and limitations… DC: Wait, what kinda tech are we talking about. MC: Ask the “Royal”. I bet he knows. R: I really am not familiar with this Adam Mclean of which you speak. DC: So, you going to tell me or harass the “Royal” all day. MC: Nanomachines. DC: Doesn’t sound so special yet. MC: Self-replicating, multi-functional Nanomachines. They power themselves by harnessing raw energy from breaking down matter and use that to replicate matter and various forms of energy, and they do it all at what is near einsteinian efficiency. DC: So, what went wrong? MC: Some one tipped of the galactic authorities. During the demonstration we were attacked. Adam choose to defend himself using the tech. He had these strange sigil like tattoos. One on his forehead and one on each hand. DC: What did they look like? MC: Kinda like those planetary or zodiac symbols. The one on the right hand though I could easily identify. DC: and… MC: It looked like this…! R: Let me go! Crowe, step back and put the gun down! DC: What are you doing? MC: Well first we are going to finish my story. Then, I am going to leave. DC: You can’t be serious. Even using magic, there is no way for you to get out of this room. MC: Well as far as I see it, I have two ways out, the hard way and the easy way. Now “Royal” finish my story. R: What do you mean. DC: Well if you aren’t going to finish it, I can put on a play. R: Alright! During the attack the tattoos started glowing. He was drawing extra energy from a form of tech he had happened upon while doing research for us. He lost control of it and that is how the grey goo happened. MC: See you should have just been open to begin with then we wouldn’t be playing this game. Occultum Lapidem. That is what Adam called it. As you know the grey goo assimilated everything on Mercury. I do mean assimilated, because no one on mercury died really. You see their souls still lie in there. Mine did, too. In order to separate myself from the goo I needed a piece of that energy source. As you see I am here. I think you know what that means, and I think you know what I can do. This is where you let me out. DC: Alright. MC: A word of advice. There are three parts to the Occultum Lapidem. Adam only had two when I found him in the goo. Keep an eye out for another “survivor”. By the way, if it is any consolation to you, your family says they love you and they will see you soon. DC: Susan, Gretchen, Tim. God damn you, Cohen!

An Account of Dissolution
An Account of Dissolution: The First Journal Entry of Maximilian Daniel Cohen
It started as a burning. I had read accounts of grey death, before. The self-replicating nanomachines would slowly liquify the victim. The victim would consistently die before the liquification completed. This was not like that. It came like a burst, a wave. It consumed the ground, the air, the living and the dead. I remember the flow of the chalky liquid over my skin, and then the burning. It felt as if every cell of my body was burning with the heat of a thousand suns. The burning didn’t just consume my body I could feel it in my mind and even deeper than that.
It consumed and assimilated with intent. It wanted to break me, see who I was inside, and bring me into itself. It took me apart like an angry scientist, upset about what it can’t figure out. It felt like eternity I burned, though in reflection I know it wasn’t even a measurable spanse of time. Then, I was dead.
I would say we all died that day. I would say the devil Mclean took us all to hell. I could see and hear all the souls on the planet. Every one of the cried out as they each learned truths from eachother. Honesty is a virtue. In the world we live in deceit of others and ourselves, when deceit is peeled back its like loosing skin. Sometimes it’s merely scrap and you can walk it off. Sometimes you need a skin graft.
What I want you to picture here is an olympic sized pool full to the brim with freshly plucked burn ward victims writhing in salt water and broken glass all climbing on and clawing at eachother trying to get out only to find that the edge of the pool is greased so they fall back in. I consider that a kinder gentler picture than the psychic cacaphony I found. As I fell into this I could see the souls see me. They knew who I was. They knew my sins, and I knew theirs. I brought this hell here. I brought the devil himself.
All the people that live on Mercury worked for Merkabah. I was resposible for their well being, and I brought down this. I had trouble enough with this responsibility, but I had also the sins of my own house to discover. My wife the adulteress had been having an affair for a year. She didn’t even feel the need to hide it I had been to busy to notice. Guilt and hate took me to the doors of madness.
There I laid fallen reaching for the lever, and suddenly I felt a familiar presence. I can only compare it to the way I felt in the presence of my father before he had went into a coma. I felt it protect me and drive the madness from me. In a moment of clarity, I could see the truth for what is was. It existed before deceit and would exist after, therefore all I need to do is accept it.
I was told I was in there for a week. Days seem like centuries when there is nothing between you and the souls of others. I travelled in search of Mclean. I travelled to find some way to fix this mess. Between the wispers of souls and a instinct as to were the center of this world was I found a cave. Above the door laid an inscription:"Visita Interiora Terrae Rectificando Inveniens Occultum Lapidem Veram Medicinam." From what I know now it meant:"See in the interior of the purified earth, and you will find the secret stone, the true medicine." Below the inscription at the entrance of the cave stood a statue of a jade lion consuming a disk of gold. It all seemed so nonsensical at the time.
I entered the cave to find my nemesis, and that is where my memory fades. Occassionally, I have flashbacks of conversation and fighting, but they are all so fleeting. I feel in entering the cave I had left my concept of self behind, and there are things I know now that I can not recall learning, even such things that only Adam should know that I probably learned in that cave. Whatever I had ventured to do I must have been successful. I have escaped, but something calls me back there. I can here it in the back of my head. I fear returning, but I feel so separated out here, as if I don’t belong anymore.
