In between field assignments, the agents explore ways to save an ally and mitigate their Fluxwarp.
The SPI sought to remove their Flux-related curses, negotiating with Grohnea, a changeling swamp witch, who recruited them to investigate the Storm Stables—an ice palace embedded in the Great Glacier—where the exiled cloud giant enchanter Rhyzophus had built a cult called Ordning’s Downfall, charmed the storm giants Jorik and Magna, and corrupted a behir brood’s eggs using an ancient ritual chamber that had once been designed to elevate mortals to godhood. The agents infiltrated with help from the goliath mole Kavaki, fought through Rhyzophus’s elite guard—including the beguiling dreamwalker Verthandi—and slew the cult leader and his lieutenants, collecting their souls for Grohnea’s use in cleansing their Fluxtaint. Cal, under the authority of Hyperion, tasked Ulgrim and the other surviving cult members with a redemption quest to free the halfling colony of Xaryuvia from beholder control, while storm giants Jorik and Magna resumed command of the stables. The case was largely resolved, but an unexpected complication arose when Oz was psychically ambushed during a scrying attempt and left afflicted with dual vampiric and lycanthropic curses—requiring Grohnea’s urgent intervention.
