The SPI investigates Timor Invictus's manor, which has been filled with celestial energy, making it inaccessible to the undead.
The SPI was contracted by Arallu’s undead factions—represented by the Toreador vampire Lestache de Lyarcourt and the undead lieutenant Malachai Hawthorne—to investigate a catastrophic explosion at Evershroud Manor. The explosion, caused when the elves cleansed the Necronomicon (the phylactery of the archlich Timor Invictus), had flooded the manor with radiant divine energy that made it inaccessible to the undead and transformed Lady Ilyana Nightshade—who had consumed a Philosopher’s Stone centuries ago—into a monstrous creature of chaos. The party fought through the manor’s corrupted floors, discovered the Celestial Hand relic, and descended to the basement where Invictus himself was found in agonized radiant bondage, unable to be destroyed and begging to be killed; he revealed crucial intelligence about the Brucolac’s origins and the Flux’s nature as unraveling reality. The agents escaped the manor only to be immediately ambushed by the vampire Malak the Mad and their spawn.
